Questions
Does Clipmino upload my videos?
No. Compression and the optional AI features, captions included, run on your Android device. Network access is used for purchase and entitlement functions; Google Play downloads the optional AI and captions packs on supported phones; and Google's ML Kit, used by Find faces and caption translation, downloads language files and sends Google usage information, never your video or captions.
Will every result fit the limit?
Every successful result fits the requested limit. If a useful result cannot fit, Clipmino reports that instead of presenting a false success.
Will the video lose quality?
Making a file smaller always removes some data, so some detail can be lost. Clipmino keeps your video's resolution and frame rate when it can and steps them down only when the size requires it. The more size you allow — or the shorter the part you keep — the closer the copy stays to the original.
Can I compress just part of a video?
Yes, for a single video. Choose the start and end with the two handles on the configuration screen; Clipmino compresses only that part, and your size limit applies to it alone. Videos in a Pro batch cannot be trimmed.
Does Clipmino change the original?
No. It saves a separate copy. After the copy is saved and checked, Clipmino may offer to remove the original; Android asks you to confirm, and nothing is removed unless you allow it. It is not offered after a trimmed copy.
Can Clipmino compress HDR video?
Yes. HDR sources are accepted and converted to standard range. Clipmino warns you before it starts: the copy will be standard range, so its colour will look different from the original.
Will the copy keep the original's date?
When the original carries a capture date, yes. It is written into the copy's file, so the copy stays beside the original in your gallery and keeps that date when you send it to another device. A source with no date produces an undated copy.
What languages is Clipmino available in?
English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Hindi, Indonesian and Arabic. On Android 13 and later you can choose Clipmino's language separately from your phone's in Settings → Apps → Clipmino → Language; otherwise it follows your phone's language.
Is Pro a subscription?
Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription that renews until you cancel it in Google Play. If you bought Pro before subscriptions were offered, you keep it.
Can I restore Pro?
Yes. Use the same eligible Google Play account that completed the purchase.
