WhatsApp says the video is too large
Short answer: WhatsApp's Help Center says a video sent in a chat can be up to 64 MB, or 100 MB on a faster connection. Send a larger file as a document, up to 2 GB, or make a smaller copy that fits.
Make a copy that fits
- Open Clipmino and choose the video, or share it to Clipmino from your gallery.
- Choose WhatsApp · 16 MB, which fits under WhatsApp's limit even on a slow connection. If only part of the video matters, drag the two handles to keep just that part; the whole size goes to it.
- Clipmino compresses on your phone and checks the copy before it says done. Share the copy to WhatsApp.
Your original is not changed. The copy is saved in Movies/Clipmino.
When a copy will not fit
Long, detailed or fast-moving videos need a minimum amount of data to stay watchable. If Clipmino cannot make a useful copy under the limit, it says so instead of reporting a success. Keep a shorter part of the video, or send it as a document.
Which videos Clipmino accepts
MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and 3GP files from 1 second to 20 minutes and up to 2 GB, with H.264, HEVC, VP8, VP9 or AV1 video, where your phone has a decoder for that codec. Full compatibility.
