Free up space taken by videos
Short answer: Make a smaller copy with Clipmino. Once the copy is saved and checked, Clipmino can offer to remove the original, and Android asks you before removing anything.
How it works
- Choose a large video in Clipmino and a size, for example 50 MB.
- Save the checked copy. It goes to Movies/Clipmino and keeps the original's capture date when the original has one.
- If the original can be removed, Clipmino shows exactly how much space that frees. Tap it: Android shows its own dialog, and removes the original only if you allow it.
When the offer does not appear
- Your phone runs Android 10. The offer needs Android 11 or later.
- You trimmed the video. A trimmed copy holds only part of it, so Clipmino never offers to remove the original.
- The video came from a cloud service or a file manager rather than your phone's media library.
